Good news for Left 4 Dead 2: the new big add-on is here!

Everyone played original Left 4 Dead was asking for a meeting (even a short one) between the gig team with Zoey and the new survived crew driven by Coach. So here we go!

Left 4 Dead 2 - The Passing - DLC

The first game add-on for Left 4 Dead 2 brings the original Left 4 Dead Survivors down south for a meeting with the L4D2 cast, while delivering new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay, said Valve team. And we are delighted to hear that.

The Passing

Left 4 Dead - The Passing

“The Passing” DLC features 3 new cool and rainy maps, new weekly game modes (Mutations), a new “uncommon common” zombie class (the fallen survivor), melee weapon (golf club), firearm (M-60), support for infected bot play in Versus, 10 new achievements and more!

Actually the fallen survivor is quite a cool feature: he drops items after a definitive death (molotov and pipes) as well as the M-60 that seems he left somewhere arround in the 2nd map on the top of the highest destroyed building.

The 3 new maps are quitely well designed open, and featuring long distant spawn points so zombies are “coming” in masses and not just “waiting” for a stupid spawn in the room you just left.

This new DLC shows “Mutations” game modes that are even changing the game from its main structure. So what are Mutations?

The Passing Add-on introduces a series of weekly game mode also called “Mutations.” These are week-long runs of new gameplay modes that changing survivors destiny from “Realism Versus” to “Chainsaw Massacre”. Each week one new Mutation is featured and the previous Mutation retired. This makes the game cool and fresh every week but honesty I can’t understand why they do not keep the new game mode as a permanent feature allowing you to select the one you prefer.

In-game blog feature mutates L4D2? Well, not exactly it just keeps you aware

Every Thursday the new in-game blog will let you know of the upcoming Mutation. But there is something more about mutations that yo have to know: once a month Valve makes a gamers poll inviting you to vote your favorite Mutation. The winning Mutation will return the following week.
