What is Lulu? It is described as “musical collaboration between Lou Reed and Metallica”. The Lulu collaboration and the album that came out from the fascinating and legendary musical combo was inspired by German expressionist writer Frank Wedekind’s plays Earth Spirit and Pandora’s Box, which tell the story of a young abused dancer’s life and relationships… Discover now more about Lulu and watch it in the beauty of jewelcalse featuring Double-CD and booklet 13.5 MP photogallery.
Back to the story plot: since Lulu plays were out in the early 1900s, the plays have been the inspiration for a silent film (Pandora’s Box, 1929), an opera, and countless other creative endeavors. As the official Lulu website reports, “The plays challenged the sexual and moral standards of their day and have remained highly controversial. Originally the lyrics and musical landscape for Lulu were sketched out by Lou for a theatrical production in Berlin. After Lou performed with Metallica at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concerts in New York in 2009 they all knew they wanted to make more music together. The Lulu project began in May 2011 at HQ studios in Northern California, with Lou’s lyrics as the starting point.” There is basically nothing more about you have to know on the album concept apart from its awesome art. The Concept and Design is by David Turner, Rurner Duckworth plus Photograpy by Stan Musilek. The cover and the booklet art are absolutely amazing, something that you can’t forget and divide from the Lulu musical concept.

Lulu double-cd we own is imported from USA. The first CD-ROM is loaded with 6 tracks: Brandenburg Gate, The View, Pumping Blood, Mistress Dread Iced Honey and Cheat on Me. The second bonus disc is filled with only 4 tracks but you have to know that the last one is about 20 minutes long. So the second CD-ROM features: Frustration, Little Dog, Dragon and the very long one Junior Dad.
This is our tribute to the Lulu great Lou Reed & Metallica cooperation, we would like to show you how cool is inside and the booklet art. Unfortunately it was impossible to get the special limited editions, anyway this is enough for each fun in our opinion:
